Xiaomi edges past Samsung, India’s biggest smartphone vendor: CMR



With its affordable yet feature-rich smartphones, Xiaomi wears the crown of the most-selling brand in India already.

As of August last year, the company had already sold over 25 million units in the country since its entry three years ago.

Adding a feather to the cap, Xiaomi has been recorded as the biggest vendor in India’s richest market of Maharashtra during Q4, 2017.

 According to the latest report by CMR, Xiaomi overthrew longstanding leader Samsung with a market share of 31.2 percent.

In comparison, Samsung held a share of 15.3 percent. Xiaomi’s success is attributed to the impressive sales of the Redmi Note 4 smartphone.

 In the October-December quarter of 2017, Xiaomi outshined Samsung in terms of sales in Maharashtra. In the state, the company accounted for 13.7 percent of its total sales during the said period.
